Week Commencing 30/09/2024

This week we are encouraging the children to come and join us for a story. The story is called “That’s not my dog”. This encourages the children to feel the different textures to the dogs ears, tail, tongue, some can be too rough, too fuzzy etc 🐶

Carrying on from the children’s interest in the sand and the dinosaurs we have added the large scale dinosaurs to the sand with foam rocks to create a dinosaur theme. 🦕🦖

As the children were also making the animal sounds last week we have added them to the sensory table with the farm house and some jelly to feel the texture and smell 🐖🐄

In the playdough we have put in some cakes and cups as some children spent lots of time last week making cups of tea and pretending to eat cakes and giving them to their peers.🍰☕️

We are also encouraging the children to make marks with the paint and paint brushes, we noticed they will have a look and sometimes watch another child but not have a go themselves. 🎨🖌️

To our treasure baskets this week Miss Royle has made some sensory socks with lots of lovely smells inside, we are sure these will be a hit with the children 😊
