Week Commencing 28/9/26

Over the next two weeks in the Flowerpot Room 🌸🪻🌷, we will continue to develop safe and secure relationships with familiar adults.

On the mirrored table this week, we have added jelly. We will encourage the children to explore this sensory experience with their hands 🙌🏼, squeeze it between their fingers…and maybe even taste it 👅!

Due to the children showing such an interest in the sensory bottles last week, we have moved these onto the rug in the centre of the classroom. We have also changed some of the treasure baskets 🧺, including our metal basket and the basket of fluffy pom poms and wicker balls.

Our focus story over the next week will be 'That's Not My Dog' 🐕 which is a 'touchy-feely' book exploring a variety of textures. Such as; rough, smooth, fluffy and shiny. Please see the link attached to also share the story with your child at home: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEz8yq5TrGI 

Last week, we had shaving foam out in the classroom. Towards the end of the week, more children were very interested and intrigued by it. Due to this, we have added a tray of shaving foam outside in the garden for us to explore in a different environment 🌳🍁

All the children will also be exploring the room, showing us what interests them from digging in the sandpit, making marks with water or paints, squeezing the play dough and rolling with the rolling pins and being busy in the role-play area making pretend teas, eating fruit 🍇 or putting vegetables 🥒 🥕 in our bags like we have just been shopping 🛍️ 🛒
