Flowerpot Room

This week in the Flowerpot Room we have a new book for group time. This is called “Mrs Wishy Washy”. The story is about all the animals getting very muddy in the mud and needing a bath, so Mrs Wishy Washy cleans them all, and they then go back into the mud 🐖🐄🦆

Here is the link to this week's story, Mrs Wishy Washy, for you to watch at home 🙂 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tPjgWO6dbJM

In the water tray are the farm animals from the story for the children to clean with sponges. The keywords from the book are pig, cow, duck, sponge and washing.

On the story table we have placed Jasper's Beanstalk story and the different gardening tools that were used to help Jasper grow the beanstalk. We look forward to hearing the children retell the story in their own words.

In the play dough, the children are able to explore different textures as they squish the shells and pine cones into the play dough to make marks.

The children have shown a great interest in pushing and pulling pipe cleaners out of the colander. Therefore, we have kept this so that the children can further develop their fine motor skills.

The children have been showing an interest in building and stacking, so we have placed stacking cups so that they are able to develop their hand-eye coordination and the children can hide objects underneath.

We have noticed that some of the children have been showing an interest in dinosaurs and therefore placed dinosaurs in the small world area for the children to explore and hide.
