Flowerpot Room

Over the next 2 weeks in the Flowerpot Room, we will continue to follow our routines, which is very important for our children. We will be offering toast and fruit and milk or water. We will also be keeping up with our hand washing routine and continuing to sing our song which is now very familiar to the children. 🤗

For story time this week, we will be finishing the year by taking a look back on some of the books we have previously read together and those that have been the most popular.
In group time this week, we will be going back to Doh Disco; using our hands to manipulate the doh in a range of different ways. 🙌🏻

In the water tray we have added a range of animals and some sponges to help the children recall our last story of the week, ‘Mrs Wishy Washy’.
We have had a few birthdays in the Flowerpot and Garden room recently, and so we thought it would be nice to enhance the home corner with some birthday party resources. This will encourage the children to recall their birthday and role play what might have happened. 🎁🎂

A few of the children have shown a real interest in the books this week, and so we have created a reading den for the children to sit and read. They will be encouraged to turn the pages of the books independently and talk about what they can see. 📚

We have focused lots on how we use a bucket and spade in the sandpit and so now we would like to put an emphasis on some of the other sand tools we have available. We will begin with the sand moulds and model to the children how we use these correctly before encouraging them to also have a go. 🏜

We will end our time at nursery with a lovely beach party!! We are so excited about this and can’t wait to celebrate our last year all together. We hope to see you there on Tuesday the 23rd at 10am. 👙🥳
