GARDEN ROOM NEWS

6/5/2025
Over the next two weeks in the Garden Room we are going to be introducing a new story. It’s called It’s okay to be different. This story is all about being different. We are going to be looking at all our friends. Some friends may have long hair, some may have short. Some friends may have Velcro shoes, some may have buckles. We will be looking at each other and the grown ups and saying It’s okay to be different.

We have enhanced with some space rockets and space station. The children have shown an interest in going to the moon. We are hoping the children will use their imaginative skills when using these new small world toys.

As the children are still showing an interest in the wild animals we have placed them in the tray with paint. The children; will be able to make lots of marks as they stomp the animals around the paper.

We have large cardboard boxes for the children to climb in, mark make in and hide in. The children really enjoy it when we sing , 🎶 Row row row your boat 🚤.

In our house we have added the props from the story Jaspers Beanstalk. The children will be able to retell the story using them. We have added pictures too so the children can remember what happened first in the story.

Outside we have wild animals for the children to put in the sand or in the mud kitchen. We have water outside and lots of jugs, bottles and other containers for the children to fill and empty.

Cars have been added outside too. The children have enjoyed placing the cars on the drain popped and letting them roll down.
