GARDEN ROOM NEWS

Over the next two weeks of learning in the Garden Room we are going to be telling a new story. This is the Three Billy Goats Gruff. The story is about three Billy goats, a small one, a middle-sized one and a big one who want to eat the grass that’s across the bridge. But underneath lives a troll. We will be introducing words such as goat 1 2 3, troll. We will be learning a repeated refrain: trip trap, trip trap, bridge under on.

We are going to be using paint and drainpipes. The children will be able to push cars down a drainpipe that has paint in it then the cars will go onto the paper. I wonder how fast they will go? We will also be using this activity outside with bigger cars and paper.

Our caterpillars have eaten so much food and are now getting very sleepy. We think they may be spinning cocoons. I wonder what will happen when they come out of them?

The children have been very interested in looking after the snails. They have been feeding them watermelon. I think the snails really enjoyed eating that.

We have added a farm and some animals, as the children are enjoying moving the animals around and placing them in the farmyard.

As the sunny weather seems to be arriving, please make sure you put suncream on your child.
