Week commencing 24/11/25

This week we are carrying on with some of the same activities for example, the sandpit with balls, guttering and slopes, as the children thoroughly enjoyed rolling the balls down them. You could hear the children repeating the phrases such as “down, down, down” as the adults repeated them back or” fast, slow." So we have also added some boxes to the sandpit so we can hear some more language such as“ in, inside, under, open, close” 📦🎾

In the water tray, we have put in some sponges, cloths and bubbles onto the tea set so they can wash up the tea set or pour drinks to others ☕️🧽

As Christmas is only around the corner, we have started to put a few more Christmas bits around. On the felt jigsaw board, we have placed a Christmas tree, a Santa Claus and a Reindeer so the children can fix the pieces together to make the full picture 🎅🎄I know all the children love this board, and it will be a hit.

On the mark-making table, we have put the playdough out with some shoe boxes, boxes and drawers as the children enjoy transporting it and filling this will also encourage the children repeating “inside, under, shut, open and close."

On the table, we have some large scaled paper with stickers, so the children can use their fine motor control to peel off the stickers and place them on to the paper.

In the classroom, we have also placed some balloons on some string. This is to encourage the children to do some more physical activities, such as laying down on our backs to kick, lift, pat, push and use some more positional language: “Over, under, crawl, lift 🎈🎈

Last week, we saw some children taking an interest in matching the dinosaurs to the puzzles, so we have placed these on the carpet for them to explore again, listening to language such as
“Some spikes, on top and underneath.

We will also continue to explore lots of nursery rhymes, and we look forward to our Nursery Rhyme singing along tomorrow at 2pm. We hope to see some of you there😊
