Flowerpot Room News
Week commencing 23/03/2026
Welcome to a new week in the Flowerpot room. This week we will be …….
Introducing our new story for the next two weeks. It’s called “Noisy Farm." We will be looking at all the animals on the farm and naming them and listening to the sounds that they make 🐓🐕🦺🐇🐄🐖 🚜
Following the link below, have a listen to the story with your child and let us know if they tell you all the sounds the animals can make.

We have also created our own nursery farm in the water tray with soil, so the children can extend their learning and clean the animals.
On our tabletop, we have a game called “Heads and Tails” where the children have to find the animal's head and match it with the right animal's tail. These too, are also farm animals 😊
In the classroom, we observed some children taking an interest in the building blocks, making big tall towers and using vocabulary such as “big, little, on top and broken” so we have placed these in the room to see what they make 🧱
The children are still interested in our opposites from last week, so we have kept out the cards for the children to do and match the opposites from open and close to night and day etc.
In our sandpit we have wet and dry sand with large buckets and spades to fill and empty the boxes 🪣
Our group time song this week is Old MacDonald had a farm and was hoping the children would match the animal to the right card and sound 🐖🐄🐇🦮🐓
Outside, we continue with bikes, scooters and pushchairs, our climbing frame and balancing beam and our water tray, sandpit and mud kitchen. We also have some coloured spray bottles with paint inside to create large scaled pictures with and a different resource to paint brushes 🎨.
We can’t wait to see and hear what fun and exploring we will get up to too 🤗
