GARDEN ROOM NEWS
1/6/2026
Over the next two weeks in the Garden Room we will be introducing our new story, Jack and the Beanstalk. We will be introducing new words such as beanstalk, giant, hen, beans beanstalk and harp. The children will be introduced to the props and to the Makaton that we will be learning. I will add the story at the end of this post.
On our mark-making table we have added small clipboards for the children to use as they walk around in different areas. We are hoping for lots more mark making from the children.
In our sensory tray we have added jelly for the children to explore. They will use their hands to feel this. We will be introducing new words such as jelly, sticky, smell.
At home, you could make some jelly with your child and let them explore it. You could introduce new words such as soft, squash, slippery, sticky smell.
On our creative table we have added straws for the children to blow through and make bubbles, then we will be placing paper on top for the children to make a picture.
Outside, we have enhanced it by adding pipettes with paint and small circular pads. The pipettes help the children develop their physical skills. The children use red and white paint and then will see what happens when the colours mix. During the week we will use other colours. You could try this at home by letting your child mix together some food colours. Then get them to paint on some paper with the new colour they have. We are hoping to have two weeks of wonderful learning. Here is the link for our story. https://youtu.be/-qxtmahpBwM?si=ujB58xIh0jge1wNu
