GARDEN ROOM NEWS

Over the next two weeks we are going to be telling our new story , The Hungry Caterpillar 🐛. We will be using lots of fruits, and we will be tasting them during our group times. We will be learning Makaton for caterpillar, butterfly, apple, plums pears, strawberries, oranges. I will add the link for you at the end of the post.

We are going to be using tweezers with spaghetti. The children will develop their hand eye coordination as they try to pick it up and put it in the pans. We have also added scissors for them to snip the spaghetti.

The children will be making caterpillars from play dough and using small sticks. We will be rolling the dough and then adding the sticks to the caterpillar. 🐛

On our mark making table we are adding pictures of ladybirds and worms for the children to colour in. We have found the children really enjoy colouring at nursery. Maybe at home you could get some pictures for them to colour in and then post them on Tapestry.

Outside we have added a shower curtain to the fence the children will be able to use rollers, and a variety of brushes to make marks with. The children can also use their hands if they would like too.

We are hoping to have a fun filled two weeks of learning.
