Our focused story for the next two weeks is called, ‘The Three Little Pigs’. Mummy pig decides the pigs need to live by themselves. One pig makes a house of bricks, one of straw and one of wood. We have enhanced the classroom and outdoor area with:

⭕️ - In a large tuff tray we have Pom Pom’s inside a spider web design. Can the children use tweezers to pinch and collect a Pom Pom. As the fortnight progresses, the tweezers will change to pegs. This will support fine motor skills.

🐷- To link in with our story, we have pigs with straw, bricks and wood to create houses and pigs. This will support fine motor skills and imagination skills.

🟩🔺🔴 – Our group time activities are focusing on shapes, so we have enhanced the table with shape puzzles and sorting shape games.

🧱 – Outside, we have added some new shelving units and sorted out the building area. The children now have a variety of different shaped and sized blocks to build with as well as accessories such as cones, hats, wheelbarrows, vehicles and tyres. I wonder what lovely creations we will make. This will support shape, space and measure, problem-solving skills, teamwork, creativity and perseverance.
