Squirrels nest

Over the next two weeks in our squirrels group we will be..🐿️
During story time we will be looking at the book 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'. I am sure this will be a firm favourite by the end of the two weeks, and we have got some fab activities to look at with this, such as watching the real life cycle of a butterfly. We have our own that we have been watching slowly turn, and the children have found this extremely interesting! Hopefully, by the end of the week they will be ready to set free as beautiful butterflies. The children have got some amazing painting techniques to try out and see if they can create a butterfly or a caterpillar for you to have a look at and send home, which will be lovely. 🐛

Our song of the week is there's a tiny caterpillar on a leaf.. wiggle wiggle! We will be learning the makaton for this, and we will be playing some lovely new musical instruments while singing this. We will see if we can try to copy the beat and each set different tempos and volumes. Seeing if we can do this fast or slowly, and using a range of these. 🐛

During our out door play we will be looking for bees, and caring for them. Since the extreme temps last we have had a huge number of bees in our garden who aren't feeling very well, however since spotting a lot of these bees the children really want to help them, because they are such kind souls! They are ever so concerned, so we will be giving them sugar water and learning all things bee! 🐝

We have got a really busy two weeks planned, and I can't believe how fast this term is going.
