Lincoln St Giles Nursery School

A home from home for children

We are a Local Authority maintained nursery school in Lincoln welcoming children aged 2-4 years old.

The school was established in the 1940s and has been providing high-quality Early Years education and care ever since. We are proud to have had six consecutive Outstanding Ofsted reports.

‘Teaching in the nursery is very well planned to meet the needs of all children. Regular meetings of key people, and class teams of staff, mean that planning is continually adjusted to ensure children’s current interests are considered. Good communication with parents enables staff to plan exciting learning experiences for children that inspire them to want to find out more.’Ofsted 2018

We offer 15hrs Universal funded places for 2, 3 and 4 year olds,  15hrs Extended funded places for working parents and we also provide affordable purchasable sessions.

From September 2017 our nursery will be open from Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.30pm during term time.

We will be offering breakfast club from 8.00am-8.30am, funded sessions from 8.30am- 2.30pm and after school club from 2.30pm-4.30pm.

Excellence in Early Years Education and Care

We believe that young children are developing more rapidly, intellectually, physically and socially, than at any other stage in life. All children’s educational and childcare experiences are designed to take account of individual achievements and needs.

We value the process of learning utmost and understand that young children have the right to communicate and explore their learning in many different ways, building respectful and sensitive attachments with adults and making friends with children.

We’re rated Outstanding by Ofsted

“Children’s well-being and safety are given the highest priority. Consequently, they feel very secure in school and learn quickly how to keep themselves safe.”

“Teaching is outstanding. Excellent planning and an emphasis on developing language and number skills make a highly positive impact on children’s learning.”

“Children’s behaviour is exemplary. Expectations are very high and, as a result, children quickly learn to respect each other and work together.”
