Badgers' Room News

Hello Badgers and welcome back, our final term before the summer holidays!

Over the next two weeks in badgers the book we will be looking at is Jack and the bean stalk, we will be using the sensory bucket to highlight the part of the story of the growing beanstalk. During stage one of the bucket time we will be using a water sprayer, and a green paper chain to pull out, springing ‘up and down’. During stage 2, I will demonstrate using a roller and painting green paint on to a large roll on paper. Repeating the same phrase, up and down, and during stage 3 the children will have there chance to get messy. Using there hands and feet to create ‘leaves’ from the side of the beanstalk. This gives the children a real good opportunity to feel the different textures and sensations of paint between their toes and fingers!

During our outdoor play we will be looking at bubbles! The children absolutely love bubbles, and become very excited when they see the wand. The children will have access to begin blowing their own bubbles. We have also got a new bubble machine in the garden, which how lucky are we, and the children are going to love it! We will be using the communication widgets to support the children in using these during there play.

Our focus over the next two weeks will be becoming independent in taking there shoes off when entering the music room, and for the children that are doing this successfully we will support in trying to put there shoes back on when exiting the music room. This is something you could work on together at home as well, this may give the children the confidence to do it here.

Our sensory song over the next two weeks is ‘dig my garden’ I have attached the YouTube link for you to listen to it at home with your child if you’d like. We will be exploring soil and looking at different seeds while singing this song and using our hands and spades to dig.
