THIS WEEK WE HAVE 19/04
We’ve had a super first week of sunny weather and happy children. The children have explored their learning environments, started to follow new routines and develop friendships.
We have enjoyed reading the story of Oliver’s Vegetables and tasted carrots, spinach, sugar snap peas and even rhubarb in a cake!
We watched some baby quails hatching out of eggs. The children thought they were so cute and were fascinated to see the hatching eggs wobbling about as the chicks tried to peck their way out!
We are continuing to develop children’s vocabulary of emotions at group time, so instead of just saying happy and sad we are exploring other emotions such as grumpy, tired, shy, excited and joyful etc. We had a wonderful time dancing to emotional music such as Darth Vader's March from Star wars for cross and Pharrell Williams "Happy" for joyful. Thankyou also to those if you who shared some photos and information about what your child did over the Easter holidays. We shared these at group time and it supported the children to talk about their experiences and prompted all sorts of discussions such as going to the park, the beach and eating ice cream! If anyone else wants to add pictures we will make sure to share them too.
Do enjoy looking at some of our photographs of our Explorers exploring!
Next week we will be continuing the theme of healthy eating, healthy bodies and healthy minds. If you have any photographs of your children being “healthy” do share on Tapestry.
PS The children have really enjoyed singing some finger rhymes with us
Due to popular request from parents we will film the children singing “ Tommy Thumb is up” and “I have a tiny turtle” next week 👍
