15/6/2026 Over the next two weeks in the Garden Room we are starting to introduce our new story called Duck in the Truck. This is a rhyming book about a duck that gets stuck in the muck and a sheep in a jeep comes to help and a goat in a boat.
We will be learning words such as stuck, boat, goat, duck, truck, jeep and sheep. I will add the link at the end of the post.

We are continuing to make models from all our boxes, we will be using tape and glue to stick them together. Some of the children have already made such amazing models. Next week we are going to paint them.

We have enhanced our light box with mini beasts and magnifying glasses. This is an interest of our children. The children really enjoy looking for worms or snails. At home, you could look in the corners of your garden for 🪱 worms or snails. You may even find ladybirds if the weather gets warmer.

For our creative enhancement, we are going to be printing with a variety of fruits and vegetables. The children will be looking at the different shapes and sizes. We will be talking about the names of the fruits and vegetables and if we have tried them at home. We will be chopping some in the home corner, so the children will really learn the different names of them.

Outside, we are moving the wild animals under the tree to hide them. The children enjoy hiding under there too. They are getting really good at naming some of the animals and talking about the features of them.
We hope to have a fun-filled two weeks.
